"We rise by lifting others"

Hi all! I hope you all are doing well and good. After garnering a lot of courage, I'm writing this blog. Please do give it a read. So, I have seen scores of people who oppose reservation because they think it is unnecessary and it should not be given. Here goes My story !’ I hail from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, born and brought up in an urban area unlike my dad who born and raised in Rural area.  My father wasn’t able to complete his higher education because his father i.e. my grandfather didn’t believe in Education. And the reason behind it was that education at that time for a family like us was not a necessity but a luxury, they didn’t have enough money for their children’s education. But my father really wanted to study and gain knowledge. So, we belong to Scheduled caste and in my village, mostly higher caste people were educated. My father was always intrigued and wanted to have conversation with them and sit with them so as to gain knowledge from those people. But th

Thoughts and the Start of My Journey

Hi Guys, This Blog has written by my Friend, please do give it a read. Hi all, I was conscripted to write something that a friend could put up on their blog, so here I am and so you'll see it on their blog. Welcome! For context, before this year, I was considered a White Male of Caucasian decent living in the United States in a fairly well-off family and currently am in my 3rd year of college. I thought for a couple months on what to write about and at the time I had started my own personal journey through some personally uncharted waters. So I came to the brilliant idea to write about that journey, spoilers it's LGBTQ related. Lets start back in my High school days oh so far in the past, Junior year I began to desire being female, as in if I could flip the gender switch to change my gender I would do with nearly no hesitancy. This feeling permeated my last two years of High school and followed me through my freshman year (COVID year of 2019-2020). Starting my second year o

Who's the real criminal for begging?

I still have the vivid memory of those days when I was in Delhi for almost a year and used to take metro to commute from Sector 16 Noida to Barakhamba. On my en route, i used to see this lady, who begged every day accompanied by her child.   From early morning to late night, she used to do begging in the name of her child’s injury. One fine day she came up to me asking for help and said “I need money for my child’s treatment as my child is severely injured.” I did see a bandage on his head and blood coming out from it but I knew that it was fake blood. So I ignored it like every other person but the realization of the murky future that child might have and the innocence that is getting sabotaged due to his involvement in all this, made me distraught. At this age when a child should be studying, playing and exploring the enigma of universe, he is being deprived of all of this.    Deluged with these thoughts, I couldn’t resist myself and called upon her as to know the reason behind
I am a 3rd-year student of B.A.LL.B. As of now, I don’t have any achievements like no certificates, no debates, and no national moots. But Yes, I have one achievement and that is I am in the law field. I want to explain why and how I chose this Law field. I did my HSC from the science stream and cleared JEE mains. During the JEE mains counseling, I felt that I never wanted to be an engineer. I told my father that I want to do something for my country's justice system so I decided to become a lawyer and this field suits me because I have one quality that I can fight until and unless I get justice done. I want to thank my father for giving me a chance to live my dream. He empowered me to pursue my dreams. After I prepared for CLAT and I got a college. As I am from a middle-class family and have no contacts in the law field, a lot of people suggested that without contacts I won't be able to do anything in this field, but I believe they are wrong. Each time someone asks me what I

I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things!

In our college there is a one Guard Aunty. The very first time I came across her was when one college student had died in a road accident and everyone was gathered at the college campus to mourn and pray for his departed soul.  After attending that, I returned to the college hostel and saw Guard Aunty sitting near the heater as it was the coldest month of the winters. I stopped by to ask about her well-being and sat near her. She was also disheartened because of the misfortune everyone witnessed by losing one precious student and said "parents se pucho uske bacche ke Jane ka dukh Kya hota hai bachhe samjhte hi nhi khash usne Alcohol pike drive nhi Kiya hota toh aaj vo shyd jinda hota". She said, I known that pain when someone loses their own dear ones because I have lost my husband in March 2019. Then I sympathized with her and asked more about her husband death and that is when she told me that earlier he was a guard in this college but died due to some illness in 2019 and

Periods: Still a taboo

An Anecdote on periods. I remember a day when I visited my aunt's house in 2013 for summer vacations. One day was my cousin's birthday and during celebrating the Birthday while cutting the cake my aunt asked me to pass the Matchbox to her from the pooja Ghar.  Next day, we all sat together (my aunt, cousin and me). At that time my cousin asked "Mumma why did you tell Sadhna to pass the matchbox from the pooja Ghar while she is going through in periods? " My Aunt's said "Oh sorry, I was unaware of that" and started scolding me saying that "mummy ne ye nhi sikhaya ki periods m pooja Ghar m nhi jate". I was really hurt by her behaviour and cried a lot. One thing that came to my mind was how orthodox can people get that only by touching the matchbox the whole Mandir gets impure. Do you really think the women during menstruation (which is the reason of your birth) is impure? India where several goddesses are worshipped. One of them Devi needs such p
